Combat Excessive Drinking on Campus

Alcohol Focus is an interactive program designed to educate college students about the physical, emotion and social consequences of excessive drinking. It can serve as part of a freshman experience course or as an elective student health resource.

What Will Students Learn?

Alcohol Focus will teach students to make better decisions about drinking and drug use, and to understand how they affect the body.

Students will also develop methods to:

  • Avoid excessive drinking
  • Address drug and alcohol addiction
  • Prevent and deal with the risks and effects of alcohol abuse (such as sexual assault)
  • Deal with friends who drink and who may have an alcohol problem

Program Features:

Alcohol Focus uses cutting-edge technology to reach your students with:

  • Informative psycho-educational articles
  • Self-assessment tests
  • Self-improvement interactive modules
  • Live reporting centers to monitor student engagement
  • Pre- and post-program assessments

How It Works:

Students progress through a series of stages with interactive content and activities that are enhanced with flash technology, video and audio components.

Can You Monitor Student Progress?
It is critical that administrators be able to track the success of alcohol-related programming. Therefore, prior to the start of a program, students complete tests about their preexisting knowledge, behavior and attitudes.

Upon successful completion and meeting or exceeding a score on the final post-test, students may receive a certificate and administrators are notified.

This level of student interaction and monitoring makes Alcohol Focus an effective tool to fight heavy drinking on your campus, and as a result, improve student health and well-being.
