Description

The Senior Software Engineer designs and develops technical solutions, as well as provides support for the business stakeholders to maintain a stable and successful business platform for our Inquiry Generation division. We are seeking a dynamic problem solver, strong communicator, and self-motivated individual to join our team as the technical leader and subject matter expert for our growing Glass Panel system. The ideal candidate has a passion and interest for creating software to solve business problems, as well as the ability to be highly organized and detail oriented.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Design and develop web sites, administrative applications, services, and APIs.
  • Maintain and support of existing web applications and consumer-facing web properties.
  • Participate in architecture discussions for new features and for improvements to the existing system structure
  • Produce code that meets specifications.
  • Knowledge of database development including creating queries, indexes, views, stored procedures, and triggers.
  • Estimate development efforts for new initiatives.
  • Give and receive constant code reviews with development peers.
  • Report project status to supervisors and project management including regular review of goals.
  • Quickly learn new technologies and systems.
  • Meet with project managers on specifics of projects tasks, responsibilities, and deadlines.
  • Effectively communicate technical issues to non-technical business users.
  • Work closely with business owners to develop requirements and user stories
Required Skills & Experience
  • It is required to be a good communicator to help align engineers with technology, be the primary point of contact with business users, and a strategic peer for your manager.
  • Proven expertise developing web services and web applications using MVC5+.
  • Solid understanding of OO design principles, and ability to correctly apply them to new software development as well as the refactoring of existing code.
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript and experience with third-party JavaScript libraries such as jQuery, AngularJS and CSS3 expertise.
  • Working knowledge of C# and the .NET Framework.
  • Experience with Web Services (REST, MVC WebAPI, and/or WCF).
  • Experience and strong skills with SQL Server or MySQL.
  • Experience with the Visual Studio IDE.
  • Team Foundation Server (TFS) and GIT familiarity a plus.
  • ORM (Entity Framework) experience.
  • Microsoft Azure or AWS experience.
  • Must have a demonstrated strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Must be comfortable working in a highly dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Must be comfortable with changing roles/responsibilities.
  • Strong debugging and analytical skills.
